"Nachtmusic", A George Marinko WPA Style Painting on Canvas

A George Marinko  (b. 1908---d, 1989) WPA style painting on canvas, entitled "Nachtmusic, signed an dated 1968, lower right. A very important American Surrealist, exhibited at MOMA's  1936 "Fantastic Art, Dada & Surrealism. 

A life long resident of Connecticut, studied under Lewis York and Yale's E. Savage. Worked on the Public Works of Art Project and then for the Federal Arts Project from 1938--19940.
