An Anglo-Indian beautifully carved rosewood & bone inlaid sewing box; the stepped rectangular top and sides featuring elaborately carved fantastical animals, centering on an elephant figure; the sandlewood interior divided into numerous compartments, some with bone fittings, plus a removable mirror. Some inlaid restoration. India, c. 1820.  Dimensions: 5" H x 12.75" W x 9.5" D.
