19th Century English Painted Tole Coal Scuttle

A 19th Century English painted tole coal scuttle, gilt decorated over an unusual melon-color background; the trapezoidal bin having a brass hinged slant front, raised on angular iron feet, with a brass carry handle. The bin backed by a small well for fire tools. Expected overall wear, including age craquelure and minor paint loss. England, c. 1880.
